The journey from childhood to adulthood is full of joys and challenges, and for a parent watching their child develop is a fascinating process. As character traits become noticeable we wonder if they are from us, from the environment or from some deeper source, and if a mixture of these things, how does it all function to create the person we see growing in front of us.? Astrology in some shape or form is a common feature of all civilizations and stems from those questions. The connection with cosmic influences is secondary - what comes first is the observation that whilst people are unique individuals, they do seem to fall into groups, types. It's easy to say that there is no known cosmic force which could affect human behavior, psychology and character but there is no explanation as yet for the means by which so many creatures navigate thousands of miles with pin point accuracy. Birds, turtles, whales etc - even bees - have a form of 'built-in GPS' which tells them where in the world they are - however much we subscribe to the nurture rather than nature argument for how we are, something in the 'born that way' argument stubbornly persists and we should not forget how dependent we are on 'the Schumann Resonance' - the 7.38 Hz natural background frequency of our world. Astrology tries to place us on the map of our personal universe - if it only works at all because we make it a self-fulfilling prophecy then this is no less fascinating.

You will want to know what astrology says about your child whether you subscribe to it or not but most likely from casual interest. I charted my son when he was born but have never shown him the details although several aspects of it have been remarkably on the nail. You'll find other relevant signs - The Moon & The Ascendant for example - that combine with the sun sign and other aspects just as Chinese astrology uses combinations of factors and signs.
